This lacks so much specificity. I'm not even sure you did this in the right order. Shouldn't you adjust the ph and alk before adding defender? Hiw long do you wait. Shouldn't you circulate the pump. Did you add reserve?

Great explanation. Have had a Limelight with the same system for about 3 months. Use it 2-3 times a week with 2-4 people. Have emptied, disinfected, re-calibrated water twice now but no chlorine readings even with salt system set at 10. Dealer is stumped and said with the setting that high it should be reading chlorine. Have to put bleach and non chlorine shock in every day or two to get any sort of reading and keep it clean. Now in watching your video I'm wondering if this is normal and I need to put in chlorine or bromine pucks in a floater? Kind of frustrated as I wish I would have just gone with a simple (and cheaper) standard chlorine spa.

Great video Pete! Very educational. You provided some great tips about putting the screws under the side panel to ensure perfect panel placement when reassembling. Your pump replacement was very clear and straightforward. I also liked your holder for keeping your combination wrenches together. I have a couple of questions: 1. In your experience, is the South Seas 748L a good tub? You were doing a warranty replacement for the pump, but is that normal? Any other common issues that of concern? We are far from a dealer so for any warranty work we would need to pay a premium for the travel. We also want to have a tub that lasts a long time. 2. Is it hard to replace jets or do you have to dismantle the whole tub and insulation? We were thinking of keeping only access on 2 sides for our installation. 3. Is that all the insulation on the side panels? I am in Canada so would need one that is well insulated. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the great video. I've found on working on my exact hot tub the most difficult part of any repair is getting those @$%%$@@$ cover panels off and back on. It's a nice tub but those panels were designed by a madman! Whenever I replace the panels I reinstall fewer and fewer screws. Duct tape to the rescue!!!

Hello, My Spa hot spot SX does not heat above 33 degrees. The screen shows a double line of hyphens but everything else works. At speed 2 it shows the degrees again and the dashes disappear. According to the instructions, the pressure switch is open instead of closed. The filter is not blocked, but the problem remains the same, even without the filter. I switched it off and on again a few minutes later but the problem is still there. Do you think it's the pressure switch that's faulty? The problem is that tablet floater likely over sanitizing the spa. The factory Watkins E5 circ pump has been replaced once already with the big LIANG, and now THAT is shot. So that tub is now on it's THIRD circ pump in 8 years. With proper sanitizer and PH, a circ pump should last a dozen plus years EASILY! My 2007 Vanguard has factory everything except the heater relay board.
